A while back we mentioned that Twitter has opened up advertising to small businesses. While this is exciting, it comes with some potential pitfalls. Because Twitter advertisements currently work by automatically pulling the tweets with the most engagement, the only control the advertiser has over what gets seen is to completely shut off the update by selecting "never promote this" in the admin section.
One large national chain needs to pay attention, as they are currently asking people to RT if they want a beer at 8:30 on a Monday morning. The post was originally from two months ago, but watch out to the disgruntled employee who sees the ad, RTs it on a Monday morning and ends up losing his job over it.

The point: both people AND businesses need to watch what they're posting and when they're posting it.
