This week, the Obama camp unveiled their strategy to shun traditional media and announce his veep selection via text message. And I must say, it's a brilliant one. By doing so, they capture mobile numbers for future messaging, communicate with the masses via an active (vs. passive) medium, and make everyone who opts in feel like they are an intricate part of the hope/change/heal the world show. Will it have an impact in the fall? Maybe. But the bar is quickly being raised for future constituent communication in the political space, both on a local and national level.
