Click Rain is one of 351 workplaces nationwide, and the only South Dakota company, that has been honored with a 2016 When Work Works Award.
This award is given to companies that promote excellent workplace practices and is administered by the Families and Work Institute and Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
This is the second time Click Rain has been honored with the award. The Sioux Falls-based company was also recognized in 2014.
“We firmly believe that putting our employees first and providing an excellent workplace environment has been the biggest contributor to our success.”— James Krueger Partner / VP Interactive Services
“We are honored to again be recognized by organizations whose missions are to improve workplaces,” said James Krueger, Click Rain partner and VP of Interactive Services. “We firmly believe that putting our employees first and providing an excellent workplace environment has been the biggest contributor to our success.”
In order to receive the award, companies must first rank in the top 20% of the country based on a sample of employers nationwide from two representative studies.
Employees of companies who made that cutoff were then asked to complete a survey based on six components that research has shown to create an effective workplace:
- Continued education
- Culture of trust
- Balance between work and life
- Support of management
- Employee autonomy
- Satisfaction with salary, benefits, and career advancement
“Effective workplaces recognize that employees are an organization’s greatest resource and make a critical difference in the organization’s ability to not only survive, but to thrive,” said Ellen Galinsky, president of Families and Work Institute.
When Work Works has found that flexibility is an important component to successful workplaces and employees who work within a flexible workplace experience greater job satisfaction, better health, and less stress.
Click Rain strives to create an effective workplace through many employee benefits and perks, including casual dress, employee wellness programs, flex time and remote work, and continuing education and personal growth opportunities. The company also supports service-learning trips for employees by offering an additional week of paid time off and covering some of the cost of the trip.
