Experience Sioux Falls Video Receives GOLD ADDY

Video Advances to District Competition

Click Rain received a GOLD ADDY® at the 2017 South Dakota ADDY Awards Competition. The award recognized Click Rain’s excellence in Online Film, Video and Sound - Internet Commercial - Online Film, Video & Sound Campaign for the film campaign, “Experience Sioux Falls.” This campaign, produced in partnership with the Sioux Falls Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB), featured unique videos for each major CVB visitor persona.

“This project has been a source of pride at Click Rain,” said Kate Kotzea, director of marketing technology. “It's been a great privilege to partner with the Sioux Falls CVB to showcase how great Sioux Falls is and highlight those aspects of the arts & culture and food scenes we haven't always been known for. This video showcases all seasons, so was a year in the making—it's been great to receive the recognition and exposure it has had.”

The series was produced over the course of several months, led by Jesse Brauning, Kate Kotzea, Mark Henderson, Nate Walter, and Paige Ratzloff, in collaboration with the Sioux Falls CVB team.

"It's easily the largest production we've taken on as an agency and maintaining creative consistency over the course of several months, along with varying weather and environmental conditions, was an exciting challenge," said Mark Henderson, director of creative services. "Our producers had their hands full and the guys behind the camera showed absolute tenacity when it came to getting the shots and getting them done right. We've all chosen to make Sioux Falls our home and we love where we live, so an extraordinary level of passion and energy went into this project."

A GOLD ADDY is recognition that it is “the very best in their markets” and “recognition of the highest level of creative excellence.”

Entries are scored by a panel of judges that select the most creative entry in each category, evaluating all creative dimensions of every entry. A GOLD ADDY is recognition that it is “the very best in their markets” and “recognition of the highest level of creative excellence.”

A GOLD ADDY also qualifies the entry to participate in the next competition tier. At the second tier, local ADDY winners compete against winners from other local clubs in one of 15 district competitions. District ADDY winners are then forwarded to the third tier, the national stage of the American Advertising Awards.

"It sure is a challenge to include everything great about Sioux Falls in one video,” said Krista Orsack, director of marketing for the Sioux Falls CVB. “But, through the CVB’s evolving vision the storyline was brought to life by our partners at Click Rain. We are thankful for this recognition."
